COSTA MESA -- After leading the Orange Coast College baseball team to the State Final Four, sophomore outfielder Chris Carlson was named the California Community College Player of the Year, as voted on by the Baseball Coaches Association at last weekend's state meeting.

SANTA MARIA -- Orange Coast College men's golf standout Marcus Mercado-Kiel finished tied for 11th place in the state after carding a two-round score of 146 at the 2012 California Community College Athletic Association Men's Golf State Championships, held at the Santa Maria Country Club on Monday.

Interest Meetings for OCC Intercollegiate Teams of Women’s Badminton and Women’s Golf

 

The OCC PE & Athletics Division will be exploring the possible formation of intercollegiate women’s badminton and women’s golf teams. These teams will compete against other community college teams throughout California. Female students interested in competing should attend prospective meetings on Thursday, May 24th. Women’s Badminton will meet at 3 pm. in the Handball Classroom located in the PE area. Women’s Golf meeting will be held at 4 pm. in the same room (Handball Classroom).

 

Each meeting will cover eligibility, seasons of competition and practice, athletic policies and costs.
